Kurt's Corner- new restaurant in Old Man Bay

Kurt's Corner - New local restaurant in Old Man Bay (Northside). Great news for those who are staying in Old Man Bay or Northside (or just driving by!). Named for The honorable Kurt Tibbetts (former head of government on Grand Cayman), Kurt's Corner is a great spot for a lunch or casual dinner. The dining area is a large roofed deck with canvas walls in case it rains. Very inviting and tidy, not just a jerk chicken stand or roadside eatery. Casual enough, but dinner by candlelight is nice.

Much lower priced than large restaurants and with a local touch by Miss Blossom (former head cook at Over The Edge restaurant down the road). I had dinner there tonight and the food was great. Fresh wahoo escovitch with some scotch bonnet sauce (my request) to heat it up. She serves great lemonade, but if you want a beer...the "barn" bar is right next door...and they have a package store attached called "Waterboyz". Very easy to find; right at the top of Frank Sound Road as you enter Old Man Bay. Call for take-out as well. 345-947-8899. Walking distance from "On The Bay" condos, Cayman Sands & Sand Castle villas.

Villa Caymanas - New Home for Rental

4BR/5BA Villa Caymanas in Old Man Bay new listing-- Friends of mine recently sold their lovely home and the new owner will be sharing it with guests...Villa Caymanas is a modern decor, oceanfront 4BR luxury home with a zen garden, nicely sized lap pool and many modern amenities. The unique architecture offers not only a full-width balcony with umbrellas and dining tables on the second floor; but also a covered veranda down below where guests can dine or watch the sun go down. The antique (heavy!) Chinese doors out front are just for access to the ground floor conversation area, 2 guest suites as well as gym...the main living area is actually on the second floor--with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors. The dive site "Babylon" is straight out from shore and the snorkeling is superb behind the house. Stone steps lead to the pebbly beach (the best snorkeling beaches have the most corals and very little sand). Kayak included as well as bikes; easy off-http://grandcaymanvillas.blogspot.com/ street parking and heavy landscaping with date palms lining the street. A real pleasant hideaway on Grand Cayman. Only 5 minutes from the grocery store, Jacques Scott Wine/Liquor store and the new Italian Kitchen restaurant.
